Rodolfo Paglialunga collection is a mythic tour of everything from New Mexico to Texas; a mix of Santa Fe fringed-wool blanket coats, gorgeous, soft dresses whose prints are based on bird plumage, or constructed out of two boxy rectangles of fabric that collapse and hug the body to great effect when they’re on, like the version in a striking combination of ivory and black silk, all accessorized with Art Deco–meets–Navajo belts, pendants, and cuffs. Paglialunga also touches on the trapunto theme with a series of bomber jackets in plain silk or scarf prints, which can fasten with either a zipper or snaps. Slipped over a longer dress or skirt and straight-shafted knee-high boots on a substantial (non-platform) heel, it’s going to be one of the newest and coolest ways to dress come fall. It could even work over long evening, giving it that touch of utility that others are also feeling.
